A fairly calm and cloudy start, with the wind having eased and shifted from NE to NW 1-2, so feeling a little milder. Remaining generally cloudy with some sunny periods and the wind slightly increasing later.
Elmer Rocks - First bird of the day was a Black Redstart, soon followed by a newly-arrived male Blackcap and 5 Linnets, then a Little Egret in the main sluice ditch. Later, a Great Northern Diver was off the rock island closest to Poole Place; initially moderately close it soon drifted further out and a very poor phone-scoped image was the best I could do…
