A Red-necked Grebe off Climping beach late morning, west of the car park. Also today 1 Great-northern Diver, 1 Little-ringed Plover in off the sea, a Greenshank heard, 3 Whimbrel, 6 Wheatear, 5 Willow Warbler,10 Whitethroat and 3 Swallow.

A late report from yesterday of an Ortolan Bunting heard and seen at Climping Beach, but with no other details.

Another slow morning offshore but record numbers of Great-northern Diver appearing by mid morning from Climping beach on a flat calm incoming tide. Signs of activity in the fields with a Redstart in the car park early morning and a Whinchat seen along bread lane. Combined totals below.

A large number of Gulls feeding on the sea this morning with c75 Sandwich Tern, c50 Med Gull, 5 Common and 2 Artic tern.

Still relatively quiet in the area but a Nightngale singing and showing well at the bottom of Longwood, was of note with several Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiffchaff holding territory, 2 Willow Warbler and a single Swallow through.

A Red-necked Grebe on the sea at Climping Beach this morning was a nice surprise, drifting slowly west on a flat calm sea, also two Great Skua offshore. Several Sandwich Tern, Med Gull moving east, as well as small numbers of Common Scoter and Whimbrel, with little else on the move.

About time too, a White-tailed Eagle put in appearance at the patch, and this time I was around to see it. With very little moving offshore this morning my attention was drawn to screaming Gulls at 08:42, turning around and seeing this barn door flying south west over the Mill.
