Early afternoon at Climping with good numbers of Waders along the beach and plenty of Med and Common Gull in the area. Small numbers of Skylark in the fields 2 Stonechat along the rife, 5 Song Thrush in the paddock, also a couple of Buzzard and Kestrel. Very quiet offshore with several Red-breasted Merganser moving.

Quite offshore at Climping this morning, but inccreasing numbers of Waders in the fields with Grey & Ringed Plover, Sanderling, Dunlin and Turnstone present. 100+ Med Gull, 230 Brent Geese. 13 Song Thrush, 35 Pied Wagtail, 3 Buzzard, 2 Grey Heron singles of Kestrel and Sparrowhawk and small numbers of Meadow Pipit and Skylark.

Marsh Farm this morning produced record numbers of Gadwall on the big pool, and a distressed looking Barn Owl that was taken over to Brent Lodge, hopefully it will survive.

A late afternoon visit to the patch in fine bright weather starting at Kents Cottages produced, singles of Fieldfare, Redwing and 3 Mistle Thrush at the camp site. 5 Meadow Pipit, 2 Stonechat along the rife,15 Pied Wagtail, 7 Skylark, in the fields. Kestrel, Buzzard, Grey Heron, Grey Plover and small numbers of Med Gull along the beach.

Cold bright morning at Climping but still very quiet with just a few Red-breasted Merganser offshore with a single  Teal. 45 Grey Plover, c.80  Turnstone and small numbers of Sanderling along the beach. In the field 40 Ringed Plover, small numbers of Med Gull and 7 Skylark. 2 Stonechat around the paddock.

Marsh Farm early afternoon produced 90 Gadwall on the main pool with 2 Mandarin, 3 Tufted Duck, with singles of Pochard and Teal. Also Sparrowhawk, Kestrel, Stonechat, 4 Goldcrest and 3 Chiffs.

Records for the Sat 18/1. Afternoon trek produced nothing exceptional on the marina to Ship-Anchor section:(MD)

A walk around the patch from midday after the rain was spectacular in the damage last night wind had done to the sea defence. A report of a Merlin from an SOS group seen at the back of Bailiffscourt.

Plenty of Gulls in the area in the flooded fields, nothing of note seen hopefully something will drop in soon. Very quiet offshore.

One of ten Egyptian Geese this morning
A quick drop in at Climping produced c.200 Brent Geese flying north east from the beach, singles of Chiffchaff and Stonechat around the paddock and 10 Med Gull with Black-headed Gulls in the fields.
