Climping Breach

With the last remnents of the sea defence wall at Climping Beach well and truly breached the sea has flooded fields as far north of the Caravan Park on the A259 Littlehampton to Bognor Rd. Hopefully now a long term solution will be reached.

Mill Road
In a nice bright sunny day, with more activity being in the fields than offshore it was still an unproductive day. Thousands of Gulls present in the fields didn't produce anything out of the ordinaray, although good views obtained of a Peregrine returning to its roost scanning the Gulls from Ferry Road. Hundreds of Black-headed, Common and Med Gull present, with several of the latter in summer plummage. 5 Grey Partidge, several Skylark in song, 7 Meadow Pipit in the Paddock, with a few Pied Wagtail and Song Thrush. A Chiffchaff around Atherington, Great-spotted Wood in Longwood, with a couple of both Grey Heron and Buzzard. Good numbers of Sanderling roosting at West Beach, and a Water Rail heard back of the golf course.
