The Climping Gap remains one of the last undeveloped sites along the coast in West Sussex. This site is dedicated to Birds seen in and around the Climping Gap area by myself and a few die hard friends, that live in the area and have been birding the local patch for decades. (Please email your sighting's to lobas@btinternet.com or Tweet to @BirdsofClimping).

10 October, 2016
Received a report from a local who made a late visit to the patch and was rewarded with a ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD. The bird seen incredibly well and showed dark carpal patches which were full complete and dark which contrsated with very pale underside. It had a dark trailing edge to wings and some white on upper tail/rump. The sun being so bright that the buff underside coverts and belly not easy to see. The bird did appear to have a breast band, but distinct due to light conditions. Seen hovering and when the sun hit the upper wing showed some paler features. Underwings showing streaking rather than barring, seen well as it drifted south west towards the sea.
