A very wet grey morning in the patch with the Cetti's Warbler still calling and showing in the reedbed, from the footpath at the back of the golf course, also 1 Redwing and a Kingfisher. The best count for a while of at least 24 Grey Partridge in the area, with supporting cast of 8 Stonechat, 3 Reed Bunting, 3 Jay, 2 Sparrowhawk, 42 Skylark, 45 Goldfinch, 30 Meadow Pipit, 4 Goldcrest, 2 Chiffchaff  1 Blackcap 3 Med Gull and singles of both Little Egret and Curlew.

The presence of Shooters this morning at the back of the golf course I quickly decided this was going to be a brief visit. A Short-eared Owl over the dunes being mobbed by corvids and then again flushed from behind the Mill cottage was a good early start, then 3 Brambling flying west overhead was another bonus.

A walk around Marsh Farm late morning  I discovered hundreds of Gull in the recently ploughed fields, which included at least 30 Mediterranean. A Raven flew north east over large number of corvids in and around the fields.

Sea watch from Climping cap park this morning in a NW wind produced 7w Gannet, 2w Grey Plover, 1w Razorbill, 4e Common Scoter, 26w Brent Geese, 12w Sanderling, 5e Med Gull, and 6 Ringed Plover on the beach. The highlight of the day was a Merlin flying west over Atherington pools. 2 Stonechat, 2 Chiffchaff, and a couple of Goldcrest were the only other birds seen in blustery conditions.

Very quiet yesterday in the patch a cloudy start with bright intervals and a hint of a westerly breeze. Small numbers of Swallow over the dunes and several of both Pied Wagtail and Meadow Pipit.

Received reports of a very exciting day in the patch this morning with the news of a STONE CURLEW, seen in flight three times in  fields north of the golf course, a very rare bird along the coast and the county in general. Also this morning a YELLOW-BROWNED WARBLER , seen in the horse paddock off bread lane and at least 2 Ring Ouzel.

A bright start to the morning and again no wind produced a new patch tick for myself in the form of a GREAT GREY SHRIKE, located at 10:20 in the field north of the golf course, access from the 3rd Metal gate from Ferry Road.  Not seen since 11:55 when flushed my a tractor the bird may still be in the area. Apologies for the poor record shots.

A grey cloudy morning without a hint of any wind i hit the golf course, it did not produce the goodies that were hoped for but still good totals for this time of year.  Plenty of Swallow and small flocks of Goldfinch moving east, and a notable increase in Blackbirds and Robins.

A walk up river to Ford from the Tesco roundabout this afternoon produced 2 RAVEN, high over Ford Prison drifting north west,  roosting on the river bank were a total of 8 Common Sandpiper, 2 Kingfisher, 10 Redshank, 2 Grey Heron, 6 Little Egret, and 1 Med Gull flew north.  In and around the adjacent fields 8 Curlew, 1 Snipe, 10 Grey Partridge, singles of both Buzzard and Sparrowhawk, 54 Mute Swan, 39 Mallard 3 Yellowhammer  5 Chiffchaff,  and good numbers of Meadow Pipit.

This morning at Climping Beach very quiet although flocks of Goldfinch moving east totalled c450  At least 8 Stonechat, along the beach, with16 Chiffchaff, 7 Blackcap, in the bushes along with 6 Goldcrest. 45 Skylark, 45 Meadow Pipit, and good numbers of Linnet and Pied Wagtail in the fields. Offshore 6 Curlew, 1e 3w Brent Geese, 7 Med Gull, 2 Grey Heron, 3w Sandwich Tern, 2 Dunlin, 3 Jay, 3 Kestrel and 15 Grey Partridge.

A bright sunny still morning produced a HEN HARRIER picked up moving east from West Beach, seemed to arch back west and flew off  high south west out to sea.
