A nice bright morning but not as cold of late found very little movement offshore, with several hundred Brent Geese moving east and settling on the sea and in the adjacent fields.

A Thousand Brent Geese seen in the area this morning with c800 went into the surrounding fields, with 132 Lapwing, plus a single Jack Snipe this afternoon. (OM)

 A cold morning found small numbers of Auk and Scoter moving distantly offshore and several Gannet moving east. Fewer Brent Geese and Lapwing in the field, but persistent paid off checking fields when I flushed a Woodcock south of the Marina, and a Jack Snipe nearby. A Dartford Warbler with Stonechat behind the old railway carriage site provided a good start to the year list, Happy New Year All.
