Out again mid afternoon looking specifically for Pied Fly in 1st wood which was unsuccessful but continued walking the path west behind the golf course and was rewarded with a juv Red-backed Shrike which eventually showed itself well enough just to get some record shots. Present until 07:00 but very elusive. Best viewed from the footpath from rope walk and look north from the 13th tee or parking at Ferry Rd and walking south from the 3rd metal gate off Ferry Rd from the A259.
Signs of a some activity this morning around the patch, with a Whinchat and 4 Lesser Whitethroat around the paddock, and a Redstart, at the camp site. Nice to bump into (RP) at the camp site, and a local dog walker who mentioned that he has seen a Barn Owl flying around the horse paddock over the last week early mornings.
