The Climping Gap remains one of the last undeveloped sites along the coast in West Sussex. This site is dedicated to Birds seen in and around the Climping Gap area by myself and a few die hard friends, that live in the area and have been birding the local patch for decades. Just a couple of hours around the patch this morning with a surprise Cuckoo calling flying west over Atherington. Hundreds of large Gulls present on the flat calm sea with at least 20 Gannet. The big surprise was a pod of Dolphins jumping around a small fishing boat that kept circling enjoying the spectical. They stayed in the area for at least 40 minutes before drifting off slowly east. Also 17 Common Scooter east, a few Sandwich Tern and 3 Great-crested Grebe on the sea. 3e 4w Dunlin, 2 Oystercatcher west, 2 House Martin, 2 Swift and 9 Swallow. A Spotted Flycatcher around the Mill seen by (ES).
