In the patch today in glorious weather, produced some good numbers of the common migrants and some oddities in the form of geese.  15 Chiffchaff, 5 Blackcap, 4 Wheatear, 4 Reed Bunting, 2 Peregrine, 2 Buzzards, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Little Egret,5 Curlew, 3 Greylag Geese, 3 Canada Geese, 30e Greenfinch, 30 Linnet, 1 Sparrowhawk and a large flock of Wood Pigeon c250. Offshore 4 Mediterranean Gull,7 Great-crested Grebe and 6  Red-breasted Mergs.

3 SPOONBILL flying close inshore east at 1020 was a nice addition to my personal patch list, also offshore 3e Sandwich Tern  6w Brent Geese, 2 Mediterranean Gull and 8 Gannet. The Black Redstart still in the horse field this morning along with 2 Grey Partridge, and a Firecrest in 1st wood ended a very good morning.

Tuesday The pale looking Buzzard showed well this morning sitting on a telegraph pole at Atherington.


 No sign of yesterdays goodies, but still 31 Red-breasted Mergansers offshore along with 11 Great-crested Grebe.  Diver spa east at 0935 and a lone Brent Goose offshore. 3-4 Chiffchaff in the area along with 2 Bullfinch. A peregrine still roosting on the gas tower mid morning and 1 Wheatear around the golf course.
  


Monday 4 Slavonian grebe offshore, one in summer plummage,  and singles of  Black Redstart horse field,  Firecrest, Wheatear, and  Blackcap, with  3 Chiffchaff in the area.

Sunday 18th 1 Red-necked Grebe off Rustington from the corner shelter.

Saturday 17th include 1w Great Skua,1w Fulmar, and 4-5 Wheatear in the patch.

Four Wheatears in the horse field and a report of a Slavonian Grebe offshore from the car park this morning.

Late visit to Climping beach this evening and I was rewarded with my first Wheatear of the year in the horse field off the car park. A quick look at the sea produced 16w Curlew, and 1 Mediterranean Gull.

Late reports for the patch over the weekend for Sunday include a RED KITE, seen circling over the entrance to the golf course, it  then appeared to drift NW. Also 1 Chiffchaff and a Bullfinch in the area.
Just outside the patch a second winter ICELAND GULL flew NW from Rustington

On Saturday 4 Slavonian Grebes off Climping Beach along with a count of 30 Great-crested Grebe, all drifting slowly west. Also 2 Stonechat in the patch

A morning seawatch from Climping Beach before the rain,produced 1e POMARINE SKUA at 0920, several distant Kittiwake moving east as well as good numbers of Auk sp in small flocks, the close ones being Razorbill. Two groups of Brent Geese totalling 38e, several Gannets offshore along with Great-crested Grebe and Red-breasted Merganser, and 20 Curlew flew east along the tideline.
