The Climping Gap remains one of the last undeveloped sites along the coast in West Sussex. This site is dedicated to Birds seen in and around the Climping Gap area by myself and a few die hard friends, that live in the area and have been birding the local patch for decades. Spent a couple of hours around Marsh farm this afternoon, the big pool held 40 Wigeon, 18 Teal, 10 Gadwall, also 2 Little Grebe, 1 Kingfisher, and 1 Water Rail. In the bushes 1 male Bullfinch, 12 Yellowhammer. In the fields a flock of 30 Skylark, 20 Fieldfare 1 Grey Heron and a Sparrowhawk.
An hour seawatching from 1400 produced 1w Brent Goose, 1w Great-crested Grebe, 2w 1e adult Mediterranean Gull, and 11 Red-breasted Mergansers offshore, also 40 Grey Plover, 20 Sanderling and a Rock Pipit along the tideline.
