News for Sunday 29th 2 Peregrine, 12 GreyPpartridge, and  2 Stonechat, offshore 12 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Great-crested Grebe and 41 Meditteranean Gull.

Spent a couple of hours around Marsh farm this afternoon, the big pool held 40 Wigeon, 18 Teal, 10 Gadwall, also 2 Little Grebe, 1 Kingfisher, and 1 Water Rail. In the bushes 1 male Bullfinch, 12 Yellowhammer. In the fields a flock of 30 Skylark, 20 Fieldfare 1 Grey Heron and a Sparrowhawk.

An hour seawatching from 1400 produced 1w Brent Goose, 1w Great-crested Grebe, 2w 1e adult Mediterranean Gull, and 11 Red-breasted Mergansers offshore, also 40 Grey Plover, 20 Sanderling and a Rock Pipit along the tideline.

Quick walk around the fields north east of the body shop this morning produced, 2 Common Buzzards, 9 Snipe, 1 Reed Bunting, 7 Fieldfare, several Yellowhammer in the area and 1 Grey Heron.

Yesterday the Black Redstart was still seen in the Marina, then flew over the river.
An hour seawatch today at Climping beach was a waste of time but recorded, 2 Mediterranean Gull 1 adult winter and 2nd winter on the sea, 5 Great C Grebe, and 9 Red-breasted Mergansers offshore. 1 Grey Plover, and 11 Sanderling west. Frustrating to see that 5 Slavonian Grebe were seen off Rustington this afternoon.

 Very queit this week with in the patch with highlights on Monday being 1 Bullfinch, in the reedbed and a Male Stonechat in the dunes. Tuesdays highlights being 35w Lapwing flying over the Black Horse pub, 1 Buzzard, and 3 Goldcrest Balliffscort.

Seawatching from the car park on Wednesday 11th Jan for two hours from 0830 produced 3w Red-throated Diver, 7w Common Scoter, 5w Auk sp, 12w Mediterranean Gull, 40w Grey Plover, several Red-breasted Mergansers, a couple of both Gannets and Great-crested Grebe offshore.

An hour sea watch at Climping car park produced 2w Red-throated Divers, 1w Brent Goose, 5w Curlew, 7 Mediterranean Gull along the shore line 100+ Common Gull, 4w Common Scoter, 2 Great-crested Grebe,  6 Red-breasted Mergansers and 1 Grey Heron.

Yesterday 5 Mediterranean Gull and 7w Shelduck.

Black Redstart around the Litthampton Marina until 3pm at least, and a Stonechat on West Beach.
