Climping – Atherington: It was uncannily quiet around the set-aside and Bread Lane area with barely a bird to be seen and just a couple of Blackcaps ‘tacking’ so I moved on to Bailiffscourt. Thankfully there was much more activity here – mostly around the fir trees and adjacent hedgerows again – with 3+ Spotted Flycatchers, a male Redstart, six Blackcaps, three Whitethroats, six Willow Warblers and at least two Chiffchaffs. Other sightings included Mistle Thrush, three Green Woodpeckers, two Great Spotted Woodpeckers and a Jay. (OM)

 Hard going this morning with little reward with the highlight being a Pied Fly in Bailiffscourt.

A bit of variety this morning with a Tree Pipit heard flying west over the campsite, a  male Redstart at Kents Cottages with 2 Swift  and a Sand Martin. 11 Yellow Wagtail flew over Bailiffscourt Court and a Spotted Flycatcher in the area. (MB)
