Two Spotted Flycatcher the highlight of a quiet stroll around the patch this morning and 3 singing Lesser Whitethroat being the best of the rest. A group of 10-12 House Martin flew east over the hotel, with a steady trickle of Swallow constantly movingThe land small numbers of Swift. Large group of Gulls again distantly offshore following the trawlers with 23 Oystercatcher west and just a few Sandwich Tern moving.
The Climping Gap remains one of the last undeveloped sites along the coast in West Sussex. This site is dedicated to Birds seen in and around the Climping Gap area by myself and a few die hard friends, that live in the area and have been birding the local patch for decades. Very quiet offshore this morning with just small numbers of Gannet & Sandwich Tern amongst the large number of Gulls distantly offshore. Late Brent Geese and 2 Diver moving east, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, and 5 Yellowhammer.
Yesterday 12/05 4 Artic Skua moving east at 08:34, a Great Skua on the sea, 2e Med Gull, c50 Common Scoter east, 5 Whimbrel, 22w Oystercatcher, 5 Dunlin, 11 Sanderling and 4 Ringed Plover along the low tide early morning, 5 Great-crested Grebe o/s.

With a hazy sea this morning combined efforts at Climping this morning was Great Skua offshore, 3 Great-crested Grebe and 8 Sandwich Terns. 4 Sanderling around the beach and evidence of breeding Plovers in the area so observers are asked to be careful were they tread. 2 Lesser Whitethroat and good numbers of both Blackcap & Whitethroat in the area.
