No sign of the LRP today but a female Black Redstart at the of the Mill Path found by (DB). 4 Wheatear around the setaside, 4 Swallow and a Swift moving east, and notably more singing Willow Warbler and Blackcap. Very quiet offshore.
The Climping Gap remains one of the last undeveloped sites along the coast in West Sussex. This site is dedicated to Birds seen in and around the Climping Gap area by myself and a few die hard friends, that live in the area and have been birding the local patch for decades. Good coverage this morning with several pairs of eyes around. An Avocet first seen at Elmer beach by (OM) at 08:30 alerted locals further east and all were able to connect. A White Wagtail in setaside late morning.

The Black Redstart still around Atherington this morning, also a couple of first's for my year with 2 Blackcap around Bailiffscourt and a Willow Warbler in the area. Generally very quiet again so took myself upto Black Ditch and found a single Little-ringed Plover in the only field holding some water, west of Rustington golf course.

Male Bluethroat perfoming well at Brooklands park late morning.
Very grey this morning with a female Black Redstart on the roof at Atherington cottage, 7 Redwing in Longwood, 2 Yellowhammer and a Stonechat around the setaside and a few Chiffs.Misty again offshore and very slow with 3e Sandwich Tern, 6e Brent Geese, and small numbers of Wigeon, Teal, Red-breasted Merganser and Great-crested Grebe on the sea.

An early afternoon visit in the sunshine produced just a few bits and bobs, with 1-2 Jack Snipe, 18 Common Snipe, out of the first right field off Ferry Road, 3-4 Chiffchaff, in the area singles of Rock Pipit, and Stonechat, as well as good numbers of Reed Bunting, Meadow Pipit, Linnet and Skylark. Very little movement offshore with just a few Med and several Common & Herring Gull along the tideline.

A glorious morning starting from the back of the golf course, finding c60 Linnet north of the golf course, good numbers of Greenfinch, Goldfinch and a couple of Jay. Through longwood which was very quiet, then through the setaside at the bottom of Longwood finding 2 Stonechat, plenty of Reed Bunting, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Pied Wagtail, Song Thrush and a Kestrel. Back along the west beach, with mixed flock of the commoner Gulls on the tideline with several Sanderling.

A cold grey morning found at least 20 Red-throated Diver offshore from the car park up to Elmer Rocks, also 17 Great-crested Grebe, 25 Red-breasted Merganser, 11E Gannet east, 12E Brent Geese, with several Med Gull drifting along the tide line. On the wader front 16 Grey Plover, 13 Ringed Plover, with several Sanderling Oystercatcher and Turnstone along the tide line.

Out late morning, walking from Ferry Road rife to bottom of longwood, and up to the River mouth with not a lot around.
Large numbers of Gulls and Gannets offshore, although distant. 4 Red-throated Diver on the sea with 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 5 Brent Geese flew east, and 18 Oystercatcher along the river mouth. With 4 Chiffchaff, 2 Stonechat, 30 Meadow Pipit, c50 Skylark, 40 Pied Wagtail, 3 Little Egret, 2 Buzzard in the field and bushes.

A Great White Egret at Black Ditch found by AH on Saturday the 11th, also yesterday a Black Redstart near the river footbridge reported by RP.
