Combined totals today include include a Pied Fly along the atherington hedge with a male Redstart and another male Redstart at the old camp site. Also 7 Willow Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler, 2 Wheatear, 4 Whinchat, and a Whimbrel over heading south west.

Slow going this morning, but good close views obtained of a Grasshopper Warbler and 3 Whinchat. Also juv Peregrine, 2 Sparrowhawk, 2 Raven, 3 Lesser Whitethroat, 14 Whitethroat, 5 Willow Warbler, 4 Wheatear, and 5+ Yellow Wagtail. (RG)

Quieter than the last few days although a few areas held a little interest. The bird of the morning was a Nuthatch, a rarity along this part of the coast, high in the trees around Atherington cottages, and brief views of a probable Grasshopper Warbler flushed from fields north east of the campsite. Good numbers of House Sparrow present with over 70 at the back of the Mill.

Disturbing finding the a great habitat in the patch in this condition, not sure if this was intentionally or not. Hopefully not and will have a chance to grow back and flourish.

Monday, 28th July: Sunshine and cloud, but remaining dry in a pleasantly bright sort of day with a light to moderate W/NW breeze.
Climping Gap: I did a circuit taking in the Atherington - Bailiffscourt - old campsite areas, which produced a bit of variety, including a few Willow Warblers and a Yellow Wagtail - although none of the scarcer migrants I was trying for! My log below:- (OM)

Still c300+ Med Gull along the beach this morning with another 5 Rings read. A Lapwing on beach amongst the Meds was a surprise, also on the wader front,  3 Curlew, 5 Dunlin 30 Turnstone and 3 Oystercatcher all going west. Quiet amongst the bushes with a Lesser Whitethroat still around the paddock with a couple of Common Whitethroat, 3 Sand Martin west with small numbers of Swift and Swallow.

Details back from the French Yellow ringed color scheme of the bird seen yesterday A9AH as you can see from the list I had previously reported this bird on 25.08.2021 but now has a new ring, the old ring being green ANCR.
