The first real cold snap produced a good variety around the patch this morning with a jack Snipe out of the setaside near the camp site, 2 Great Egret west and a close inshore Avocet west at Climping Beach.

Just two Little Gull in the field west of the Mill cottage mid morning, a Raven and 3 Fieldfare flew west from Longwood, a Firecrest around Atherington pools, c100 Brent Geese in the fields east of Bailiffscout and 100+ Med Gull in the area.

Poole Place - An adult Little Gull W was the best offshore, and just 9 Brent Geese passed through, but apart from plenty of Med Gulls there was little to report, whilst the low tide attracted a few waders to the shoreline – 12 Grey Plover, 20 Turnstones and 6 Sanderlings, A couple of Pied Wagtails were along the beach, but the only surprise was 2 Ravens flying W over Poole Place, pursued by a noisy posse of Carrion Crows and ‘cronking’ well. At least 10 Little Gull in the flooded field west of the Mill Cottage this morning, also c75+ Med Gull in the area, 7w 2e Gannet, 2w Brent Geese, 22w Ringed Plover, 9 Oystercatcher, singles of Rock Pipit, Chiffchaff and Goldcrest, 2 Stonechat with several of both Skylark and Meadow Pipit present.

 11 Little Gulls in the fields around the patch this morning with 8 in the field west of the Mill. c.150+ Med Gull, 12w Brent Geese, 1w Great-crested Grebe, 2 Grey Partridge, 2 Redpoll, single Rock Pipit, 6 Stonechat and c75 Skylark in the area.

A few hours spent at the beach in horrid conditions from 08:30  with a pale Artic Skua east close inshore, being the highlight, with1 Little Gull east, 7w 1st winter Kittiwake and 12w Brent Geese.
