A fine bright sunny morning with again little movement offshore, although it did produce a small selection of Waders with the highlight being 2 Spot-shanks west overhead at Climping Beach. Still very quiet in the bushes,  a Hobby passing through the Hotel grounds was a nice bonus.

A grey blustery morning around the golf course with the highlight being 3 Whimbrel trying to keep ahead of the green keepers and a Juvenile  Stonechat. Onto Climping were a Raven was heard then seen feeding along the beach, a Grasshopper Warbler flushed twice from the rife at bread lane and my first returning Willow Warbler of the Autumn in the hotel grounds.

Good numbers of Sand Martin on the move this morning, one flock around Atherington mid morning consisting in over c.80 birds so very difficult to ascertain the overall number. Very quite on the golf course, 1st Yellow Wagtail on the move through the paddock.

A quick visit this morning around the patch produced 61 Sand Martin moving west, 6 Swift in off the sea, a Whimbrel heard only and the first Wheatear of the autumn. (RK)

I covered the beach this morning from West Beach upto Climping and noticed several Med Gulls along the shoreline, numbers of both Linnets and Goldfinch on the increase, and juv Whitethroat and Reed Warbler in the bushes.

The Barn Owl present around the hotel grounds this evening at 08:15, also 4 Med Gull west and  singles of Grey Partridge, Little Egret, Sparrowhawk, Kestrel and Reed Warbler.

The Barn Owl again this evening hunting in the horse paddock at Climping from 07:50, also Grey Partridge and Sparrowhawk in the area.

Bits and bobs.

An evening stroll around the patch produced a nice surprise in the form of a Barn Owl, seen hunting around the horse paddocks then flying off towards the hotel grounds, but returning frequently. Also this evening,

Bright sunny morning with a westerly breeze, a little bit of variety in the patch today with a Raven seen conking flying east at Atherington, then I walked under a Little Owl around Atherington Pools, and a selection of waders on the move offshore from the car park.

Little Owl Atherington Pools
Little movement yesterday although a few Gannet offshore with 25w 11e, and singles of Great-crested Grebe and Fulmar west. Small numbers of Sandwich Tern and Turnstone along the beach.
