With a lighter wind than yesterday and brighter conditions, this morning totals still didn't live up to much.

Very quiet again offshore at Climping with just 7 Mediterranean, and 4 Common Gull, 3 Common  amongst the several Sandwich Tern feeding offshore,  also 3 Little Egret and 3w Dunlin. 1 Common Sandpiper at the Marina with 5 Lesser B B Gull.

Late report of a probable Quail, flushed from the field at the end of Long Wood, certainly wasn't a partridge as  observer stated that they later flushed a couple of them near the golf course and the difference was quite striking.

Just over an hour wandering along Climping Beach from 07:30 produced:

Beautifull morning for a stroll, but not a lot of activity bird wise with only 2 Med Gull west along with 2 Redshank, 3 Little Egret feeding in the shallows of the incoming tide, several Sandwich Tern and a couple of Gannet offshore and a Kestrel around Atherington.

A juv Bullfinch around the old camp site was the highlight of the morning, although  2 Lesser Whitethroat at the end of mill path was a close second.  A pair of Grey Partridge flushed from the west beach, looked like failed breee several Swift and a single Kestrel. Offshore 1 Med Gull flew west along with 4 Gannet and several Sandwich Tern feeding.

 A quick visit to Marsh Farm produced 2 Great-crested Grebe, a single juv, 2 Tufted Duck and 2 Pochard, and 2 Yellowhammer and a Buzzard.

A couple of hours spent around the patch this morning proved uneventful birding wise with 5 adult Mediterranean Gull amongst the Gull roosting on the golf course and a further 2 Med Gull flew west from west beach. Also 15 Swift, 2 little Egret, and singles of Grey Heron, Buzzard, and Sparrowhawk, with several Sandwich Tern and singles of Great-crested Grebe and Gannet offshore.


Good variety of Butterflies and Moths in the area.
