A stroll around West Beach and the back of the golf course this morning proved very quiet, singles of Wheatear and Cetti's Warbler were the highlights, with a few Sandwich Tern offshore, with several of each Reed Warbler, Whitethroat and Blackcap and evidence of breeding Meadow Pipit.
Onto Marsh Farm with 2-3 Cuckoo flying around the area, pairs of Common Tern, Great-crested Grebe, and Pochard, good numbers of Reed Warbler still singing with lesser numbers of Sedge,Yellowhammer, and Reed Bunting, 7 Swift, 2 Cetti's Warbler and singles of Lapwing, and Grey Heron.
The Climping Gap remains one of the last undeveloped sites along the coast in West Sussex. This site is dedicated to Birds seen in and around the Climping Gap area by myself and a few die hard friends, that live in the area and have been birding the local patch for decades. (Please email your sighting's to lobas@btinternet.com or Tweet to @BirdsofClimping).
