A walk around the golf course and then back along west beach was very quiet par a couple of Wheatear, 3 Blackcap, singing Chiffchaffs, singles of Cetti's Warbler, Reed Bunting and Grey Partridge. A flock of about 60 Sanderling flew west along with 4 Med Gull.

This afternoon at Climping form midday, an hour watching the sea was a total waste of time.

A walk around Marsh Farm this afternoon produced a few first for the year, with the first Hirundine seen.

Mid morning start due to other commitments saw the usual fare of Linnet, Skylark and Meadow Pipit present in small numbers, then an hours watch of the sea produced my first Sandwich Tern of the year.

Sea watch from Climping beach from 07:15 for a couple of hours, then a walk around the bushes produced at least 6 Firecrest.  Later received news of a Ring-necked Parakeet and a single Wheatear at West Beach.

A lovely bright sunny day with a brisk westerly wind which didn't produce anything out of the ordinary, just a single Wheatear on the golf course along 2 Grey Partridge. At least a dozen Chiffchaff in the area and several of both Skylark and Meadow Pipit. Offshore 17 Red-breasted Merganser and 4 Oystercatcher east.

A very grey damp morning produced my first Blackcap of the year, singing around Climping Cottages, also a Firecrest around the pools at Atherington, several Chiffchaff and Goldcrest.

A quick look at Marsh Farm with just 2 Little Grebe on the small pool, 3 Bullfinch, singles of Redwing, Cetti's Warbler and again good numbers of both Chiffchaff and Goldcrest.

Big increase in Chiffchaff numbers in the patch this morning with up to 20 present,and 2 Wheatear. Singles of Cetti's Warbler, Water Rail and 12 Red-breasted Merganser offshore.

With the sea covered in blanket fog, I took myself for a jaunt around Marsh Farm late morning, plenty of birds in song but nothing out of the ordinary.

Very quiet at Climping this morning with just small numbers of Common Scoter, Red-breasted Merganser and Great-crested Grebe offshore. Small numbers of Sanderling and Turnstone along the tide line with with singles of Ringed Plover, Curlew and a Med Gull flying east.

Onto Marsh Farm this afternoon which was not a lot better with just  2 Water Rail,  5 Teal, 3 Chiffchaff, 6 Goldcrest, 2 Reed Bunting, 27 Redwing and 3 Buzzard.

Another late morning visit to the patch this morning with the Eider still present off West Beach, 3 Grey Partridge in the paddock off Bread Lane, and a Firecrest with the Tit flock around Atherington Pools. Good numbers of Curlew and Brent Geese still present in Cudlow field off Climping Beach.
